GAWA 2020 Conference

Conference program is here!

The program and registration for our upcoming secondary conference on 14th August 2020 is available.

We have been fortunate to secure a keynote presentation from our local, distinguished Professor Peter Newman [AO], who is internationally recognised for his research on sustainable city planning.  Peter is the Professor of Sustainability at Curtin University.  He sat on the Board of Infrastructure Australia and is a Lead Author for Transport on the IPCC.  Peter has a soft spot for GAWA and has always been willing to present at our conferences.  His GAWA presentation, titled: COVID, CITIES and CLIMATE is very topical and pertinent, and will provide contemporary ideas for post-COVID city living in a new economy.

  • A range of attractive workshop presentations has been organised, which cater for both lower and upper secondary geography teachers.
  • Room limitations mean that you need to get your conference registration in early to ensure you are successful in joining the workshops you want.
  • There is a single registration price of $195 per teacher.

There are no accommodation packages this year for our one-day conference.  Teachers wanting to stay at the Pagoda Resort before or after the conference will need to arrange this personally with the resort – mention you are attending the conference.

We look forward to your attendance and trust you find our conference a meaningful professional experience.
